Mission

The Alive in Hope Foundation was
established in 1998, thanks to the unprecedented generosity of
the people of Brooklyn and Queens who gave so selflessly to
the 1996 Diocesan Alive in Hope Campaign. Now in 2010, this
generosity continues as individuals make restricted and
unrestricted donations in support of the foundation’s
mission.
The foundation’s mission and purpose
is to provide for the long-term needs of parishes, schools and
special ministries through the creation and support of
endowment funds in the Diocese of Brooklyn. It provides grant
support to specific ministries through eight permanent
endowments. These core endowments, created by the faithful
of Brooklyn and Queens, support the following
priorities:
•
Catholic education and schools
• Religious education and
evangelization
• Formation of laity
• Priestly and religious
vocations
• Retired senior
priests
• Continuing clergy
education
• Migration
affairs
• Health and social
services
