Hope Builders support Catholic Education,

hosting reception at the Fitzpatrick Hotel, NY

On a warm August evening, generous supporters of the Alive in Hope Foundation joined to host the Foundation’s first Hope Builder’s Cocktail Reception at the Wheeltapper Pub in the Fitzpatrick Hotel, Midtown. Friends, family and colleagues mingled outdoors, over hors d'oeuvres and spirits - making new acquaintances and learning more about the Alive in Hope Foundation.

Ken Rosato, anchor of Eyewitness News This Morning and Eyewitness News at Noon on ABC-7, was a fabulous Master of Ceremonies, and Mary Jane McCartney, former Senior VP at Consolidated Edison and parishioner of St. Margaret’s in Middle Village gave a warm welcome on behalf of the Foundation’s Board.

After watching a brief film on the Foundation’s work, Kiana, a recent graduate at St. Clare’s School (Rosedale, Queens), and her mother Kathy, gave a moving testimonial about the help they receive from the Alive in Hope Foundation. Kiana was able to complete her studies at St. Clare’s thanks to an annual scholarship from the Vilma Joseph-Turner Endowment Fund. Her dream of a Catholic High School career at St. Francis Preparatory School is coming true, thanks to the generosity of the Alive in Hope Foundation, and an anonymous Hope Builder. Kiana’s story, just one of many, captures the Foundation’s underlying philosophy - creating ripples of hope: where one act of kindness inspires another, and the impact endures a lifetime.

The special evening would not have been possible without the generosity and kindness of Hope Builders: Christine Galib, Brian Geller, Peter Labbat, Karen Kiehl, Thomas Lawler, George and Mary Jane McCartney, Lauren McDermott, Samuel Romanzo, and Stephanie Whittier.
