On Monday, December 14, the Alive in Hope Foundation will host its Fourth Annual Bishop’s Christmas Luncheon. For the first time, the event will be held at Russo’s on the Bay in Howard Beach, Queens. Along with Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio, this year’s Honorary Co-Chair, renowned Chef Michael Lomonaco, will join Co-Chairs Mary Ann Mattone and Susan Rohan and the Alive in Hope Foundation in honoring Mr. Peter Labbat and Mrs. Karen Kiehl Labbat with the Pope John Paul II Distinguished Stewardship Award – a truly deserving honor for two individuals who are dedicated to Catholic education in the Diocese of Brooklyn.
In just three years, the Alive in Hope Foundation has awarded over $1.1 million to the Bishop’s Scholarship Program, because of the generosity shared with the Bishop’ Christmas Luncheon. Through the 2:1 match we receive, an additional $550,000 afforded children the opportunity to receive a values-based Catholic education. Over 1,000 children and their families have been touched by the gift of education.
This year, the Foundation hopes to expand its efforts and bring Christmas blessings to many more children and families in Brooklyn and Queens. We thank those who have already pledged their support to the Luncheon, and welcome new Hope Builders to make a difference in the lives of others this Christmas season.
If you have not yet pledged your support for the event, please e-mail dkallman@dobmail.org to reserve a table, journal advertisement or buy tickets.
For the different levels of support, please view the Bishop's Christmas Luncheon Commitment Form.
