Thanks to an anonymous donor, The Pope John Paul II Academy opened this past September in Bushwick, as a tuition free academy for students whose families fall under the federal income threshold for poverty.
The Alive in Hope Foundation, through the generosity of Austrian Airlines, donated furniture to the newly formed academy, including: 6 stand alone desks, 6 wall cabinets, 1 mahogany desk, 1 mahogany credenza, 2 desk chairs, 4 flat screens, 1 mahogany cube table, and miscellaneous supplies for the offices and classrooms of the school. The estimated value of these items totals $32,600.
The vision of the extremely generous donor who is funding Pope John Paull II Academy - to provide a first-rate, values-based Catholic education to students who could not otherwise afford it - is one shared by the Alive in Hope Foundation. The Foundation lauds the extraordinary gesture of the school's anonymous donor, and is proud to take part in the story of Pope John Paul II Family Academy, in such a unique way.
