New Executive Leadership

Marion D. Boteju

Executive Director

Marion Boteju has served as the Director of Operations and Programs for Alive in Hope Foundation since 2006.  In this capacity, she managed the organization's operations and cultivated support for current programs and endowments in the areas of Catholic education, health and social services, immigration, vocations and more.

Marion previously served as the Associate Director of Parish Stewardship and Development Associate.  She has worked closely with donors, leadership, parishes, schools and agencies to meet the needs of the people in Brooklyn and Queens.  Her prior experience includes the Harvard School of Public Health, Evergreen Capital Partners and Interactive Properties.

She is currently pursuing a Masters in Public Administration and Non-Profit Management at New York University.  Marion graduated with Honors in International Relations and Economics from Hunter College, and is a graduate of St. John's Prep High School in Astoria, and St. Leo's Elementary School in Corona, Queens.  She is currently a parishioner of St. Sebastian's Parish in Woodside.

Joseph Geoghan

Chairman of the Board

Joseph Geoghan was named Chairman of the Alive in Hope Foundation, having served on the Board of Directors since the Foundation’s inception in 1998. 

In addition to his service to the Foundation, Mr. Geoghan has been active in Diocese of Brooklyn since 1975, chairing and participating on various commissions and task forces related to Catholic elementary school education, Diocesan financial, administrative and development issues. He is a Papal Knight of St. Gregory the Great.  He is also a Knight of the Holy Sepulchre.

           

Mr. Geoghan spent his entire professional career with Union Carbide Corporation, from which he retired in 1998.  He became Vice President and General Counsel in 1987, with additional responsibility for Government Relations and was elected to the Board of Directors in 1990. 

Mr. Geoghan holds a Juris Doctorate degree from Fordham University Law School, and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from St. John’s University.  He is married to Kathleen Geoghan.  They are proud parents of five children and grandparents of thirteen. 

Jill Arkwright Harvey

Board Member

Jill Arkwright Harvey serves as Director, Executive Vice President, Chief Investment Officer, and Portfolio Manager for Analytic Asset Management. She has over fifteen years of experience in investment research and asset management.  From 1992 until 2000 she was an analyst at Gray, Seifert and Co., Inc. specializing in the consumer, finance and transportation industries. In 2000 Ms. Harvey assumed portfolio management duties.  She was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 1996 and is a member of the New York Society of Securities Analysts. Ms. Harvey graduated Magna cum Laude from the College of the Holy Cross where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. 

In addition to her service to the Alive in Hope Foundation, she is a member of the Board of Trustees of Bishop Kearney High School, St. Giles Foundation and the Emma Adams Foundation.

Craig Goletz

Board Member

Craig joined JPMorgan Chase & Co. in 2008 and is responsible for supporting the Global Head of Treasury Services Operations in Management Information Reporting, Strategic Development and Financial Reporting.   He manages a global business management team based in New York City of over 50 professionals located in New York, Chicago, Dallas and Manila in the Philippines.

Previously, Craig was Vice President and Business Area Manager for Cash and Trade Operations for Deutsche Bank based in New York where he worked from 2003 until 2008.

Craig also worked at Prudential Financial in Newark, NJ where he was the Director of Program Management for Prudential Investments Project Management Office supporting the technology organization.  Prior to that, Craig held various positions at Chemical Bank.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Rider University and completed the Executive Development program at Duke University Fuqua School of Business.  Craig and his wife Maureen live in Jersey City, New Jersey and have two sons Bryan and Matthew.

Kathleen McCormack

Board Member

Kathleen McCormack joined Cullen and Dykman, LLP as a partner in 2006, after being a partner at Cusack and Stiles, LLP for nine years. Ms. McCormack has an extensive practice in the area of wills, trusts, estates and estate planning. She also practices in the area of tax exempt organizations, in which she has extensive real estate experience, and represents a number of not-for-profit and religious corporations in all aspects of their operations.

Ms. McCormack holds a Juris Doctor from St John’s University School of Law.  Ms. McCormack also obtained her undergraduate degree in business with honors from St. John’s University.

Ms. McCormack also serves on the board of the Josephine Lawrence Hopkins Foundation. She is currently a parishioner of Corpus Christi in Woodside.

 

Sam Romanzo

Board Member

Samuel Romanzo is currently a Director in Equity Markets Product Development, with a focus on strategic product initiatives in Prime Brokerage and Equity Financing at Merrill Lynch Global Markets which is now part of the Bank of America.  He has held various positions over a 30 year career at Merrill Lynch, including Global Head of Equity Derivatives Operations, Director of Business Development for Structured Equity Financing, and Head of Delta-1 Trading for the Americas.

Mr. Romanzo holds a B.S. in Biology from Rensselaer Polytechnic University, and was a Research Assistant for Sterling Drug Company’s Sterling Winthrop Research Institute in the Department of Teratology prior to moving to New York City.

Mr. Romanzo is a parishioner of Saint Robert Bellarmine, where he shares his gifts, especially to the Pastoral Planning Council efforts. In addition, he has served as a committee member to the Alive in Hope Foundation’s Bishop’s Christmas Luncheon since its inception.

Mr. Romanzo has been married to his wife, Nancy, for 23 years and they are the proud parents of Adriana a senior at Marywood University and Massimo, a sophomore at Regis High School.
